Budget Update: Next Board workshop scheduled for Jan. 26
In Olympia, the Washington State Legislature is trying to find ways to fix the massive budget shortfall, and those cuts will impact our District. We began this year with a balanced budget, but because of new cuts by the state, we are now short an additional $5.24 million for this school year. And we know that severe funding cuts will be made for 2010-11. We are working hard to shift resources and we will do the best we can to make smart budget decisions with the success of students in mind. Information about budget development is on our budget website, the next board workshop is on Jan. 26 from 4-8 p.m. at the John Stanford Center.
