Family Engagement team continues work to help families support students
Seattle Public Schools' Family and Community Engagement team is continuing its work to support families and the community in ensuring that students are prepared for college, careers and life. Some of the ongoing work the team is involved with this year include:
• Development of Family Literacy and Math ToolKits. The toolkits contain the Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) and Performance Standards for each grade level, so families know what their children need to learn each year.
• Sponsorship of the Academy for Families scheduled for March 12. There will be information and resources for families on early learning, math, apprenticeships, college readiness and more.
• Implementation of the School Family Partnership plan at 41 schools. The plan is designed to boost student achievement through meaningful family engagement. Families are invited to participate at FEAT schools to become members of the team.
