A message from the Superintendent
June 3, 2013
Dear Seattle Public Schools staff and community,
Today I’m announcing that Mr. Kelly Aramaki, principal at Beacon Hill International School, has been appointed Executive Director of Schools for the Southeast Region.
Mr. Aramaki will continue at Beacon Hill International School until the end of the school year and begin his new position in July. In this new role, he will continue to support and advocate for Beacon Hill International School, and will also be able to support the other schools in the region.
His responsibilities will include coaching and evaluating principals in the Southeast region, strengthening community and family involvement, supporting the expansion of international education, and building on the regional partnership with the city through the Families and Education levy – all in service of ensuring a world-class, 21st century education for every child in every classroom in the region.
I am pleased to be able to move a principal of such high caliber into this role where the entire region can benefit from his enthusiasm and focus on improving student achievement. He has been an asset to Beacon Hill International School and will be an excellent fit for the broader community.
We will move quickly to meet with the Beacon Hill staff and community to select a new principal for Beacon Hill International School and will keep you informed of the process.
Please join me in congratulating Mr. Aramaki in his promotion to Executive Director of Schools for the Southeast region.
