    Can EAP help?

    The Employee Assistance Program is a free and confidential counseling and referral resource available to all Seattle Public Schools employees and their family members. Our staff of licensed professionals offers assessment, short-term counseling, referrals and resources to help resolve a number of personal, work and family related problems.  Please visit the MySPS Employee Assistance Program page (login required) for more information.

    Workplace Mediation

    EAP provides on-site mediation to assist employees in resolving worked-based conflict. Mediations between two or three employees or an entire work group is always voluntary on the part of the employees. It can be initiated by the employees, the supervisor, manager or principal.

    Confidentiality

    The EAP staff respects the personal and sensitive information you provide and treats all discussions confidentially. No information is released to anyone without your consent except:

    1. if we are required to do so by law, such as government statute or regulation, subpoena, or court order;
    2. if we have a reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect of a child, dependent adult or developmentally disabled person;
    3. if we have a reasonable cause to suspect sexual misconduct involving a student;
    4. if we believe you plan to harm yourself or others.

    How to make an appointment

    Call 206-252-0415 to schedule a time for you to meet with an EAP counselor or to have a consultation by phone. Life's problems don't stick to schedules. Our office hours are fairly flexible. We can nearly always find an appointment time and location that works for you within 1 to 3 days.
