    What is Schoology?

Schoology is organized differently than typical classroom web pages and provides powerful tools for engagement and collaboration. The tool allows for a wide range of practice to accommodate different teaching and learning styles. Schoology provide users the opportunity to use online tools in ways they may have used them in the past, as well as adopt new practices and different ways of engaging and instructing learners. More importantly, Schoology is a Learning Management System and it can allow teachers to provide instructional experiences such as blended learning that are not easily accomplished with web publishing tools that were formerly available. There are three main structures in Schoology:

    • Courses - Online classes that can be used to provide information or drive instruction and learning.

    • Groups - Collaborative spaces for sharing practice and engaging others with a shared educational purpose or with access to different supports for learning

    • Resources - Collections for managing and sharing curriculum and other files. Resources can be connected systems such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or Office 365
