History
Family history research often includes school
attendance history or even school records.
A $30.00 per hour fee may be charged for
research time depending on the nature of the
request.
If you want to know which schools someone
attended and when, please send a written request that includes as
much of the following information on the subject of your research
as possible:
Include the following in your
letter:
- The name or names (including possible variations
in spelling) used while in school
- His or her birthdate (at least an approximate
date).
- The parents' names.
- The names of the schools your subject attended
as well as the approximate attendance dates.
- Your name, address, and telephone
number
- Your handwritten signature
- The reason for your request, and
- Your relationship to the former
student
If you wish to obtain a copy of this person's
school records, you will need to include a signed and dated release
from him or her, or, if your subject is deceased, you must provide
a copy of the death certificate as well as release from the next of
kin. Also include a check or money order payable to Seattle Public
Schools for $10.00 for each student record requested. Otherwise,
you may be billed for this service.
