Family and Community Engagement
The Family and Community Engagement Division (FCE) is in charge of
systemic implementation of the School Family Partnerships
Framework. This framework provides a research-based approach to
increase family engagement in student learning by positively
impacting the instructional core and supporting the key goals and
objectives of Seattle Public School's "Excellence for All"
Strategic Plan. We manage the School Family Partnerships Project, a
district-wide initiative recommending that we engage our families
more frequently, more meaningfully, more intentionally, and more
strategically to increase student learning at school, at home, and
in the community. |

Family and Community Partnerships
The Family and Community Partnerships Project (FCP) implements a
research-based School-Family-Community Partnerships Model to
increase student academic achievement by helping families assist in
their children's learning at home and at school. FCP Project staff
and representatives from our partner community-based organizations
(CBOs) work directly at our 20 highest-need elementary schools to
provide culturally appropriate support for families. Our work
contributes to closing the current achievement gap by strengthening
the meaningful involvement of families and communities in their
children's education.
