Science Safety Home
Updated: 4/11/06

Safety should be on the minds of all teachers in every classroom. Their classroom and activities should always be safe for all students. This is most important in the secondary science classroom. Secondary science teachers should make sure all of their students understand and can follow safe procedures at all times. They should also keep records documenting those efforts. We have enclosed a copy of safety rules and contract, signs for your rooms and a quiz that each student needs to pass showing some understanding. We encourage teachers to design other activities, such as making safety posters, to deepen their students understanding of the need to be safe in the classroom.
