Tools for Teaching Biology: Ecology Instructional Materials and Technology

Description: During the first part of the day, participants will learn about inquiry-based supplemental materials for teaching core concepts in ecology. The materials were developed by scientists from the Institute of Systems Biology in order to introduce students to a systems approach to learning about biology. During the second part of the day participants will investigate how to use current technology (probeware, calculators and computers) to collect quantitative data in their classrooms.
