Summer '07 Math - Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to attend on specific dates with my school?
During the summer, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues teaching the same grade as you at schools near to yours.  During the school year, you will come together again to share your successes and struggles with this same cohort of people.  Therefore, we strongly encourage you to attend your summer courses at the location assigned to your school.

What if I cannot attend on the dates required for my school?
In this case, please sign up for another date in the summer that works for you.

I teach a multi-age classroom.  Which grade level should I sign up for?
You may select any grade level you teach.  In addition to the two-day training, a third day of training is provided for teachers of multi-age classrooms to assist them with the unique challenges of this assignment.

Do I have to attend?  Will I be paid?  How much?
This training is mandatory.  Therefore, teachers will be paid at the mandatory rate of approximately $32 per hour (2 days of training = $384, 3 days of training = $576).

Will I receive my teacher’s materials at the trainings?
Given the volume of books to be delivered, no.  Materials will be delivered directly to your school.  Of course, materials will be available for your use during the trainings.
