ELEMENTARY GLAD TRAINING, 2006-07

Below is a list of trainings offered through Bilingual Services for 2006-07. There are enough trainings for each Bilingual Center School to send two teachers to a two day overview training and two teachers to a five day demonstration training. These spaces are paid 100% ( we pay sub costs and training costs).

We have no reserved, paid slots between September, 2006 and June, 2007 for staff who are not in Bilingual Center schools. (Title I may be offering GLAD trainings during the Summer School session in 2007.) Many buildings have folks who have had the two days but not finished the entire seven days. We encourage buildings to send these teachers to the five day portion.

You may sign up for trainings on the Seattle Public Schools Professional Development website http://www.seattleschools.org/area/profdev/otherpd.xml#bilingual
Or phone Nancy Burke: 252- 0077 or email nburke@seattleschools.org to register or with questions.

Tune-up days

There will be site visits with follow-up’s by Key trainers this year. These will be for teachers who have had the full 7 days of training and wish support with specific strategies or parts of the model. There are only 38 of these days between October, 2006 and June, 2007. Visits will only be to sites with Bilingual staff. Once a site is selected, communication before and after the visits will be conducted by the Key trainer assigned to that visit. Detailed information about tune-up days will be sent to principals soon. Please direct questions about tune-up’s to Nancy Burke.
