Who: Walk the Walls is open ONLY to teachers who have completed BOTH the overview and the demonstration. It is intended to sustain the staff who have been trained and enable them to deepen their use of the Project GLAD model.

What: It is a three hour class guiding fully trained participants through all the strategies in sequence as they are taught in a GLAD Unit from beginning to end.  Participants will view all the strategies as posted on the walls. The strategies are divided into the Planning Components of the Project GLAD model: Focus/ Motivation, Input, Guided Oral Practice, Reading/ Writing, Extended Activities, and Closure/Evaluation.
Key Trainers will explain and demonstrate the strategies, addressing pacing of instruction, uses and types of grouping, the management component, and assessment.  Key trainers will illustrate and model specific strategies.  Interaction of trainers and participants takes place through Q/A and the use of the 10/2 strategy shared out. The linkage in the strategy sequence to build academic language becomes clear and is intentionally a focus throughout the training.

When: February 6,2008 2:30-5:30
