Seattle Public School
District
Tobacco Diversion Classes
Seattle Public School
students who violate the District Tobacco Free Environment Policy
must be referred to diversion class. These ninety-minute classes
will give students an opportunity to learn the facts about tobacco
including health effects, possible quit methods, and media
literacy. Several classes will be offered at different locations on
Tuesdays every month, and all classes will be free of
charge.
To
sign students up for Diversion Class:
- Please complete
referral form and fax it to Lisa Sharp at (206) 252-0957 by 4:00pm
on the day prior to class for the student to be able to
participate.
- After signing the
student up for the diversion class, give the student the referral
form. Instruct the student to have his/her parent or guardian sign
the form, and then bring the completed form to the
class.
- School will be
notified of attendance, but absences from the class will be handled
through the school.
