Seattle Public Schools
is committed to ensuring a high quality school for every student.
To achieve this goal, we are implementing Excellence for All, our
five-year strategic plan. Building an infrastructure that works
well is a key strategy in Excellence for All. Our Business Operations strategic goals will improve
our budget process, create greater efficiency and efficacy
district-wide, and ensure that schools have the resources they need
to deliver excellence for all students.
We
can only help our students excel if our central operations run
well. Our Business Operations
service areas are not always visible to students or families but
their work is very important. These service areas are responsible
for hiring staff, paying bills, programming computers and managing
all the other details needed to operate 93 school buildings, employ
8,000 staff members and serve nearly 46,000 students.
