Instructional Broadcast Center
Receives Three Northwest Regional Emmy Award Nominations

Video programs produced by The Seattle Public Schools Instructional Broadcast Center have received three nominations in the 39th Annual Northwest Regional Emmy Awards competition. The Seattle-Northwest Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) serves television professionals in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Montana. The Northwest Regional EMMY Awards ceremonies highlight each year's activities in June.

The nominees, organized by category and program title, are:

PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
- Seattle Public Schools, "Safe Schools in Troubled Times", Charlie Hinckley, Producer/Writer, Peter Rummel, Photographer, Chet McKnight, Editor

CHILDREN & YOUTH PROGRAM
- Seattle Public Schools, "Conflict Resolution", Judy Simon, Producer, Hollyce Phillips, Producer, Sion Jones, Editor
- Seattle Public Schools, "DigIt! Resource Conservation", Michelle Mansfield, Writer, Nancy Guppy, Producer/Director. Funding from Seattle Public Utilities.

Winners will be announced at the 39th Annual Northwest Regional Emmy Awards on June 15th, 2002 at the Bagley Wright Theater at Seattle Center. A complete listing of all Emmy nominees is available on the NATAS Web site (outside link).
