Frequently Asked Questions - Southeast Education Initiative

Will the District continue to support the Southeast Education Initiative?

Seattle Public Schools is committed to ensuring a high quality school for every student.  Our efforts to apply additional resources that meet the specific needs of students at schools involved in the Southeast Education initiative are helping to inform how we can best support all schools.  Every school is required to develop an annual school improvement plan that identifies strategies to support academic achievement for all students. We have developed a framework – based on a variety of school performance indicators, including growth over time – for providing targeted, school-specific services, including additional staff and materials. This framework will guide how we provide appropriate support to all schools.
