Meetings are scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 15 at Catharine Blaine K-8 and on Tuesday, September 16 at Roosevelt High School. There is also a School Board work session on this topic scheduled for Wednesday, October 1 at 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Additional information is contained in this flyer.

School Board Unanimously Adopts Strategic Plan, "Excellence for All"
On June 4 the School Board voted unanimously to adopt the Strategic Plan, "Excellence for All." The plan, a series of detailed appendices, and a PowerPoint presentation are posted on this Web site. For additional information and background data, please visit our Strategic Plan Web site. The plan was informed by input from more than 3,000 community members. Feedback received during May is summarized in a Strategic Plan Input Summary. Next steps include developing detailed project work plans for each strategy. Community members are welcome to continue to share thoughts about the strategic plan with the Superintendent and strategic planning team via a feedback form or via email to strategicplan@seattleschools.org.

Drinking Water Quality Shows Continued Improvement (August 2008 Update)
The first annual report for the Drinking Water Quality Program shows 93 percent of water sources at the 31 schools retested this year pass all requirements of the policy. In 2004, the pass rate was just 60 percent. The water quality standards adopted by Seattle Public Schools are the strongest in the nation and are more stringent than those recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency. As detailed in the report, SPS is meeting and exceeding those standards. Click here for the complete report.
