Instructional Technology
IT Vision

Technology enhances academic achievement when combined with sound instructional practices. Instructional Technology supports the fusion of tools and practice in the classroom to provide students with essential experiences and skills. We collaborate with teachers, administrators, and students to enrich teaching and learning through the use of technology.

IT Mission

1. Implementation - plan and implement levy projects that include school-based equipment, technology applications and professional development.
  • Provide initial levy-supported school-based instruction for technology tools and resources as designated by the levy including follow up technology-enriched units of study as time allows.
2. Capacity - help schools define a model for supporting technology use, and arrange training to insure that the school has capacity for its ongoing support needs.
  • Mentoring individual teacher leaders to effectively integrate technology.
  • Provide a model template to allow buildings to scaffold a blueprint to meet their site specific constraints and needs.
  • Work with buildings to develop site technology support plans as well as identifying staff roles.
  • Assist schools in building capacity to offer technology integration training to teachers.
3. Accountability - support teacher use of technology tools to increase student learning
  • Help schools develop and implement a technology plan as part of the transformation plan.
  • Training teachers as needed to implement this plan.
  • Provide support for the development of technology-driven instructional units.
  • Help plan and develop infrastructure for the use of technology in instruction and learning.
  • Develop IT initiated instructional units and create IT teams available to work at sites with instructional leaders.
  • Help the school define a model to assess the success of technology integration.
