Thank you for your interest in
employment with the Seattle Public School District. E-Recruit our
electronic application system is being taken offline to make
improvements. Below are instructions for applying on our new
application tool.
All current and 2008-09 certificated and classified jobs are
listed at this site.
- Eligibility for any certificated
position requires the approved teaching category or the appropriate
endorsed Washington State Teaching Certificate.
- The first job ads for classified
positions will be posted in early May, 2008.
- Classified jobs include support
positions in schools as well as District offices.

NOTE:
Most Certificated Jobs are only open to DISPLACED INTERNAL
EMPLOYEES.
504's and super seniority employees will have first priority.
S.E. Initiative school positions are open to all
applicants.

Step 1: Search for a position

- Click on a job to see a specific
job posting.
Step 2: Apply for a
position
- Fill out one (1) site application
on-line (see the link at the bottom of the job posting) and send it
along with a cover letter, and resume.
Please note: If you have Adobe 7.0 or above you can send the site
application (along with your cover letter and resume) via email. If
you have Adobe 6.0 or below, please print the completed application
and send a hard copy (along with your cover letter and
resume).
- The cover letter should clearly
outline how you meet the requirements of the position.
- One Site Application/packet is
needed for each open position as each school/department has their
own hiring teams and specific hiring criteria.
- You may send your application
packet either via email or by hard copy directly to the address
identified in the job posting. The packets must be received by the
hiring administrator by close of business on the indicated closing
date.
- School/department interview
committees screen applications based on specific criteria developed
by this committee. Principals/Program Managers are responsible for
scheduling interviews. The school/program committee conducts the
interviews and the principal/program manager checks references for
the recommended candidate. Recommendations are reviewed by the
Human Resources Service Team assigned to that school before the
"official" offer is made.
- Employees selected for a position
will be required to complete a Standard Application for their
personnel file at the time of their hire.
