those applicants who meet the qualifications and current needs of
the SPS substitute hiring process will be contacted. Qualified
applicants will be contacted either by phone or email to receive

To
apply for a certificated substitute position the following
documents are required:
- Cover letter and
resume (optional, NOT required)
- Official transcripts
(If you do not have official transcripts at this time please send
current copies. In addition, please order your official transcripts
and have them sent directly to the address above)
- Completed certificated employment application with
date and signature
- 3
reference letters (You can have your university send your complete
placement file.)
- Note: Original/current
WA teaching certificate/license will be required at a future date
if selected to attend a substitution orientation meeting.

To
apply for a clerical classified substitute position the
following documents are required:
- Cover letter and
resume
- Completed classified employment application with date
and signature
- 2
reference letters
- Note: a skills
based computer test is required - arrangements for taking the test
can be made by calling the HR receptionist at 206-252-0377.

apply for an instructional assistant or special education
assistant classified substitute position the following
documents are required:
- Cover letter and
resume (must include at least one year related work
experience)
- Official transcripts
reflecting an AA Degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits of higher
education (If you do not have official transcripts at this time
please send current copies. In addition, please order your official
transcripts and have them sent directly to the address
above)
- Completed classified employment application with date
and signature
- 2
reference letters
- Bilingual
instructional assistant positions: Please specify the languages in
which you are fluent.

apply for an interpreter for the Deaf classified substitute
position the following documents are required:
- Cover letter and
resume (must include 3 years of related
interpreting/transliterating experience)
- Official transcripts
reflecting an AA Degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits of higher
education (If you do not have official transcripts at this time
please send current copies. In addition, please order your official
transcripts and have them sent directly to the address
above)
- Completed classified employment application with date
and signature
- 2
reference letters
- Note: a
District-devised test of ASL and Manual English must be taken and
passed
- Note:
Certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc.
and/or National Assoc. of the Deaf is strongly desired.
