Classified Job Fair
For Displaced Employees with 504 accomodations or Super-seniority
Monday June 15, 2009 JSCEE - 3rd Floor Commons, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
At the Job Fair the 504 and Super-Seniority displaced employees will meet with principals/program managers and/or their designee to learn more about the current vacant classified represented positions. At the end of the Job Fair, 504 and Super-Seniority displaced staff will turn in their selections with principals' sign-off to Human Resources reflecting they have made contact. If principals/program managers choose not to attend or send a designee, 504s and Super-Seniority displaced staff may be assigned to their schools/programs. Employees with 504 accommodation or Super-Seniority must attend the Job Fair in order to select a position. After the Job Fair, assignments will be made by HR in seniority order beginning with 504's and employees will be contacted by an HR representative. All assignments from the Job Fair will be completed by June 19.

All vacant positions are currently being advertised on the employment website; however, if any new positions become available prior to the job fair an addendum to the attached bulletin will be handed out at the job fair.

Hiring Process for Displaced Certificated Employees
Secondary positions remaining unfilled after the Certificated Job Fair at both middle and high school level are re-advertised for 504 and super-seniority for one additional week, and will close on June, 8. A number of positions were missing from last week’s job ad and additional positions were incorrectly described or advertised as stipend positions.

In addition, new positions at both elementary and secondary not advertised previously for the Super-seniority Job Fair will be advertised for 1 week for 504 and Super-seniority displaced staff to select.

To select a position, super-seniority displaced staff must contact the principal to discuss the position. They then send an e-mail request with the job number, school and position to ljones@seattleschools.org for middle and K-8 schools or mlwebster@seattleschools.org for high schools, or ddejarnatt@seattleschools.org for elementary by 4:30 p.m. of the closing date.

Elementary positions remaining unfilled after the Certificated Job Fair are advertised for regular displaced teachers. Displaced teachers will apply for positions in the usual way, sending a Site Application, cover letter and resume to the principal. Site teams will conduct interviews and make recommendations to HR.

Positions not claimed by 504 and Super-seniority by the closing date of the first week posted, will be posted for displaced staff the following week. Positions will be advertised June 1 through June 8, June 8 through June 15, and June 15 through June 22. Recommendations may be turned in after each week’s job positing has closed, but no later than June 26.

After June 26, 2009 Instructional Directors and HR will assign remaining displaced to remaining positions considering categories, experience, employees' preferences and program needs.

At the present time, our certificated teaching job postings are not available to "out of district" applicants.
