Under the direction of the Executive Director, Financial Services provides financial policy planning to the Superintendent and Seattle School Board. Financial Services also coordinates the activities of the following departments:

Superintendent of Public Instruction: (OSPI) - OSPI allocates
$4.5 billion per year to Washington's schools and implements state
funding formulas and laws. OSPI's Financial Services unit oversees
school district accounting, budgeting, and financial

Business functions formerly within the Financial Services Division include Risk Management which is now within the Legal Office, Business Systems now a part of Technology Services, and Publishing now a part of Facilities.
