The Enrollment Services office at the John Stanford Center and the Bilingual Family Center at Aki Kurose Middle School will be closed Friday, July 3rd, in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.
WORK CONTINUES ON NEW STUDENT ASSIGNMENT PLAN
The New Student Assignment website includes details of the proposed New Student Assignment Plan. Initial implementation is scheduled for the 2010-11 school year. The website is updated regularly with new information. Community forums and other ways to comment on the plan are also posted.
OPEN REASSIGNMENT PERIOD: JUNE 15, 2009 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2009
The Open Reassignment period began June 15, and continues through September 30. During this time, your child can be reassigned to any school with space available and/or change to a different school's waiting list upon request. (When changing to a new waiting list, the student is added to the end of the new list, and the previous waiting list spot is dropped and cannot be reinstituted.) Although we accept both faxed and mailed applications to change a student's assignment and/or waiting list school, applying in person is strongly recommended. If you fax an application based on information we give you over the phone, the situation is likely to be different by the time your application gets processed.
If, on a given day, more than one student is placed on a waiting list for the same school, grade, and program, then tiebreakers will apply to those students for that date only.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have not already applied for the 2009-2010 school year, you may submit an application at any time.

If your child has an assignment for Fall 2008, and you know that he or she will not be attending the assigned school, please let us know. (Children on the waiting list for another school will NOT be removed from the waiting list unless we contact you, and you decline the offer of a seat at the waitlisted school.)
