School Support and Services

Staff Development and Training

  1. Determine OSPI, Seattle School District goals, individual program of work, professional needs, and job-alike requirements of staff. Follow the CTE plans for the staff and department in promoting and managing development and training opportunities throughout the school year and summer.
  2. Create an annual calendar of development and training opportunities available to staff during the school year. Avoid conflicts with District and building staff trainings.
  3. Analyze and create task or subject-specific trainings as needed. When planning trainings, consider clock-hours as a model to increase staff credit toward their certification.
  4. Develop set-aside funding, a plan to encumber substitutes, and plans to manage local, regional, state or national development and training opportunities, as needed.
  5. Evaluate trainings. Complete end of the year or grant funded report activities and maintain proper reporting procedures.
