School Support and Services

Resource Support for Teachers

  1. Train teachers / staff the various types of support available to them for these programs, including human and material resources, and how to access and use these resources.
  2. Initiate opportunities for shared interaction and resource development between teachers and others, including post-secondary, community, business, and industry.
  3. Gather information about various fiscal resources available in grant and non-grant budgets.
  4. Calculate and distribute the budget among various programs and budget lines in a fair and equitable manner.
  5. Inform school programs (administration, teachers and department heads) regarding budgets available.
  6. Train teachers / staff to understand and manage required fiscal and audit processes, including:
    • Opening and closing of accounts
    • Handling monies
    • Record keeping
    • Money management
    • Accounting
    • Use of various forms to set up purchase orders
    • General requisitions
    • Contingency accounts
    • Payroll slips
    • Timelines
  7. Seek appropriate grant funding to meet specialized and on-going program needs.
