Teacher Certification

  1. Maintain current knowledge of OSPI processes, training, and CTE Certification standards, by program.
  2. Be available to meet and orient new and prospective teachers regarding the process of vocational certification, including:
    • Timelines
    • Cost
    • Academic or professional development requirements
    • Training locations
    • Experience requirements
    • Salary placement.
  3. Begin an initial folder for each staff member and create a check-sheet of activities completed thereafter through their term of service with the school district. Meet with them periodically to evaluate their progress toward reaching next levels of certification. Maintain a data base and hard copies of certificates applied for: conditional, initial probationary, probationary, and continuing staff members.
  4. Promote training and certification opportunities.
