Course Title: Digital Design 1, 2

A course that lays the foundation for producing Web-ready communications -- design principles, storyboarding and peer review. Emphasis is on personal communications -- graphic images, electronic portfolios, web photo album and interactivity.

Digital Design 2 builds on established development and design skills and competencies by focusing upon local industry standards and output. Teamwork, shared project management and project scheduling skills and activities are emphasized. Customer feedback and approval are considerations for the projects under construction.

A+ is an industry-recognized, vendor-neutral credential that certifies the competency of PC Service Specialists. It is sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), and backed by major computer hardware and software manufacturers, vendors, distributors, resellers and publications.

A continuation of A+ 1, IT A+ Certification 2 focuses on obtaining and refining the skills and knowledge necessary to master the two certification exams. Content explored is the same as that described in the A+ 1 course, but with more emphasis on operating system exam topics.

The focus for IT Cisco Networking 3 is on Advanced Router Configurations; LAN Switching Theory and VLANs; Novell IPX; and Threaded Case Studies.

This course will teach students the basics of using and understanding the personal computer. Keyboarding skills will be taught and emphasized throughout the semester, with the following units complementing and extending the practice of keyboarding skills.

In IT Intro to Info Tech 2, students will explore the Student Outcomes for Introduction to Technology I in greater depth. This will provide the opportunity for additional applied practice focusing on projects using technology (i.e. electronic portfolio, etc.), developing expertise and advanced abilities manipulating WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint, and greater keyboarding proficiency.

Course Title: IT Multimedia 1, 2

IT Multimedia 1 focuses on the use of computers to design, create and present an interactive multimedia product that includes the six elements of multimedia (e.g., text, graphics, video, animation, sound and interactivity).

IT Multimedia 2 takes a more in-depth look at multimedia topics: resources, storage systems, sound and video editing techniques--including digital, equipment and more complex detail design documents. This will involve advanced concepts and technology tools for production, specifically focused on sound, animation and video.

Course Title: IT Technical Services 1, 2, 3, & 4

Technical Services is designed to give students an introduction to their building technology resources and network and the rigors of supporting that system. Basic computer maintenance and building network fundamentals will be covered.

Technical Services sequence 2 focuses on the industry-recognized CompTIA A+ Certification curriculum and soft skills.

Technical Services sequence 3 continues to spotlight Network+ Certification plus Soft Skills and Building Maintenance. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics of basic network structure, including: star, bus, mesh, and ring topologies, their advantages and disadvantages; segments and backbones.

Technical Services sequence 4 includes Advanced Topics plus Soft Skills and Building Maintenance. Students will be able to describe and demonstrate real-world, hands-on competency in the installation and customization of Win2K Professional and
Mac OS; Mac networking and maintenance of Macintosh applications; programming (Visual Basic, C++, Perl, etc.); laptop/notebook software installation and maintenance; web page construction techniques (HTML, DHTML, XML, etc.); web page management; system group security policies; application expertise in MS Office 97/2000, IE5.x, Real Player, Netmeeting, etc.; local elementary and middle school support; and school district training and support.

This is a course in which students acquire a basic exposure to the field of graphics and attain employable skills in the operation of a variety of office duplicating/copying machines and the offset press. They learn composition and layout for camera-ready copy, various binding procedures, and the use of the camera, plate maker, composer, and other types of equipment of the printing industry. Careers in the graphics field are explored.

Visual Communications 2 continues the work begun in Visual Communications I, and expands the cycle assignments to include more complex work with photography, printing, layout, and development of advanced projects.
