Agriculture and Environmental Science Pathway

§ People working in this pathway raise animals and crops, flowers and trees. They do landscape, turf management, animal husbandry and fish & wildlife management. Agricultural Education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resources systems.

§ Agriculture is the first science, and the foundation of our civilization. It is the development of agriculture that permitted a tribe, and ultimately a society, to flourish and thus have the redistribution of labor that allows other professions to develop. It all starts with food, and there is a great and ancient satisfaction in being able to feed the world. In the 21st Century, it is particularly important that, through this pathway we learn to steward the environment properly so that it continues to sustain the human race. This is essential work!
