Program Description

This career & technical certified course provides core course work in medical terminology and abbreviations, anatomy and physiology, medical law and ethics, confidentiality, first aid, CPR, growth and development, HIV/AIDS training and universal precautions, holistic health and wellness and medical front office concepts. Students will participate in 90-190 hours of internship in medical clinical situations. Students are prepared for potential entry-level jobs include Nursing Assistant, Patient Transporter, Medical Receptionist, Medical File Clerk and Physical Therapy Aid.

Prerequisite

  • Must be at least 16 years of age at time of program completion
  • Junior or senior (preference given to graduating seniors)
  • Have your counselor’s approval
  • Be attending Seattle Public Schools

Location

Wilson Admin. Center
1330 North 90th (near 90th and Aurora)

Time

  • 2 sessions available
  • 9:15 – 12:15 AM Monday - Friday or 12:30 - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday (Times are flexible)

Length

2 Semesters – You must be available both 1st and 2nd semester

Credits

  • 3 High School Credits
  • 19 credits at North Seattle Community College
