Parents can declare a preferred waitlist school that is other than their first choice school. Students may only be on one waitlist. Current policy: If a student is not assigned to the first choice school, they are automatically put on a waitlist for that school. |

Queen Anne and Magnolia residents who receive a 9th grade mandatory assignment, after selecting at least three schools, will be assigned to the comprehensive high school nearest their home. This is a new provision. |

Distance will be applied as a tiebreaker to 20% of the open kindergarten seats after siblings have been assigned to TOPS. This is a new provision. |

Continues the special preference for 5th grade AE#2 and Orca students to be assigned to sixth grade at Salmon Bay. (The tiebreaker applies after region and before lottery) Current policy: This special program preference is set to expire this year and would not be in effect for 2005-2006. |
