After-School and Summer Programs

After-School Programs
Many Seattle Public Schools offer after-school tutoring for bilingual students who need additional help with English or their school work. Bilingual Instructional Assistants or tutors who speak the student's language may also be assigned to assist struggling students. In addition, many community organizations run after-school programs for immigrant students. Check with your child's school or teacher about after-school programs in your school or neighborhood.

Summer School for Bilingual Students
Bilingual Student Services runs a five-week half-day summer school program to help students continue their immersion in English and the academic curriculum. Transportation is provided, and usually breakfast and lunch are served. Partnerships with community organizations help provide after-school activities, including field trips, arts and crafts, computer lab, and community service projects.
