Students found eligible as academically gifted may continue to attend their current school, can apply to attend a school that offers an Advanced Learning Opportunities (ALO) program, or apply to attend a Spectrum program. Students who prefer a Spectrum assignment, will need to enroll, even if currently enrolled in a building that offers Spectrum. Assignment to the Spectrum program is not guaranteed, and preference is given within clusters/regions. Students found eligible as academically highly gifted may continue to attend their current school, can apply to attend a school that offers an Advanced Learning Opportunities (ALO) program, apply to attend a Spectrum program, or enroll in the Accelerated Progress Program. Testing during the fall/winter testing cycle is for enrollment for the following school year only. Students who remain enrolled in an ALO school, a Spectrum program, or the Accelerated Progress Program retain their eligibility through the eighth grade. This includes students rising from 5th to 6th grade. Students who do not enroll in a program will need to retest the following school year in order to retain eligibility. Students who apply for a program but are placed on a waitlist are given an extension but must enroll by the end of open enrollment for the next year or retest. Enrollment Service Center locations, guidelines, and applications can be found on the Enrollment Services webpage. If your child is not currently enrolled in Seattle Public Schools, you must submit a complete enrollment registration. |
See the Enrollment Services webpage for enrollment forms for newly-made eligible students. |
