Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (SPI) - SPI allocates $4.5 billion per year to schools and implements state funding formulas and laws.  The Financial Services unit oversees school district accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.  For information on school district accounting, refer to the Accounting Manual for School Districts .

State Auditor's Office - The State Auditor reviews financial records to ensure public funds are accounted for and controls are in place to protect public resources from misuse and misappropriation.  In addition, legal compliance auditing is conducted to make sure units of state and local government adhere to required laws and regulations relating to financial matters.  To review and print a copy of the Seattle School District #1 1999 State Audit Report, follow the above link and select 'Audit Reports' from the main menu.  Search for audit report number G1476.
