School Consolidation and Closure
Phase II


On July 26, 2006, the School Board voted to close seven schools, and directed the Superintendent to enter into a “Phase II” of closures. Phase II would focus on schools with excess capacity in the Central area, West Seattle, and the North. Phase II was also designed to identify a new location for the Pathfinder K-8 program and to recommend a new location for the Viewlands autism inclusion program.

Oct. 5 Site-Based Hearing at Pinehurst (AS #1)

Oct. 10 Site-Based Hearing at Genesee Hill (Pathfinder)

  Interested speakers may sign up by calling the School Board office at (206) 252-0040. Public testimony will be limited to three minutes per speaker and should focus on the school at which the hearing is being held.

Oct. 24 Public Hearing on Final Recommendation

  Interested speakers may sign up by calling the School Board office at (206) 252-0040. Public testimony will be limited to three minutes per speaker and may address any aspect of the Final Recommendation.
